Three B2Gold employees killed off-site

B2Gold reported that three of its employees have died as a result of injuries sustained when an employee transport convoy was attacked in Mali on February 15.

Traveling under Malian gendarme escort, the convoy was transporting B2Gold employees from the Fekola gold mine to Bamako when it was attacked 75 kilometers west of the capital city.

B2Gold said mining and processing activities at Fekola have not been impacted by this incident.

The attack occurred along a transport route that has been the focus of an increased security presence by the Malian armed forces. The miner is working with the Malian government to understand further details of the attack.
