Monadelphous lands multiple mining contracts

Engineering company Monadelphous has secured new construction and maintenance contracts and contract extensions with several miners and an energy company totalling A$170 million.

Lynas Rare Earths awarded Monadelphous a construction contract for stage 1 of its Mt Weld expansion project near Laverton in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. The scope of the contract includes structural, mechanical and piping works associated with the new concentration facility.

Monadelphous said it was also awarded a multidisciplinary construction contract to undertake a series of upgrades at Fortescue’s Anderson Point iron ore stockyard in Port Hedland. 

BHP has extended Monadelphous’ master services agreement for the provision of general maintenance services to its Pilbara iron ore operations through 30 June 2025 with a one-year extension option. Additionally, Monadelphous said it secured a one-year extension to its mechanical and electrical maintenance, shutdown and project services contract across BHP’s Nickel West operations in Western Australia.

Rio Tinto extended its sustaining capital works master services agreement with Monadelphous for one year. The contract includes multidisciplinary project services across the miner’s Pilbara iron ore operations.

Finally, Monadelphous won a three-year services contract, with three one-year extension options, to continue providing sustaining capital projects and maintenance support at global energy provider Santos’ production and support facilities in the Southern Highlands region of Papua New Guinea.
