Metinvest Polytechnic celebrates first graduating class

A Ukrainian private mining and metals university has issued diplomas to its first class of  students in modern engineering and technical specialties. Among the 143 master’s students, 89 graduated with distinction and 35 received diplomas with honours.

The students, which were enrolled in 11 educational programmes, attended more than 200 lectures, over 500 practical and offline sessions, and more than 200 hours of workshops at Metinvest’s enterprises in Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia and Kryvyi Rih during their studies.

The chosen specialties included intelligent control systems in mining and metals production, business processes and operational efficiency, computer sciences and digital intelligence, audit and consulting of occupational safety, innovative technologies and environmental protection systems, project management of changes in the mining and metals business, computer-aided design of mechatronic systems, innovative activities in materials science, modern technologies of rolling production, steel metallurgy and the latest technologies for the development of mineral deposits.

“I am confident that the graduates of Metinvest Polytechnic will be the drivers of Ukraine’s restoration and the establishment of a powerful and technological industry. This graduation is the first step towards a new approach to engineering education, a new technical elite and a new future for the country,” said Metinvest Group CEO Yuriy Ryzhenkov.

Most of the graduates are employees of Metinvest’s enterprises planning to further develop in the profession and advance their careers while remaining a reliable pillar of Ukraine.

Metinvest Group established the university in June 2020 and the first students were enrolled in 2022.
