FLSmidth delivers for Josemaria

Josemaria Resources namesake copper-gold project is Argentina’s San Juan province is moving closer to its start thanks to a new mill and cyclone deal between the company and FLSmidth.

The supplier confirmed it will be sending three gearless SAG mills as well as three gearless ball mills and cyclones to the site, which has a 150,000-million-tonnes-per-day capacity, by late next year. The total transaction value is DKK 600 million (US$89.4 million).

“The efficiency of the equipment will meet our customer promise to deliver sustainable productivity to the copper and gold mining industry,” he added.

The Josemaria open-pit mine, which is wholly owned by Josemaria Resources, is located about 450 kilometres from San Juan. With proven and probable reserves of 6.7 billion pounds copper, 7.0 million ounces gold and 30.7 million ounces silver, it has an anticipated mine life of 19 years.
