Metso releases cone crusher, addition to screen line-up

Metso has added some serious heft to its processing equipment line-up, recently unveiling its new Nordberg HP350e cone crusher and its TSE Series triple shaft screen, the latter of which will be new to the North and Central American markets.

The Nordberg HP350e is brand new to its Nordberg HPe crusher series, which launched in 2023. Nordberg HPe crushers are engineered to meet the evolving and constantly increasing performance needs of the mining and aggregates industries, and the HP350e offers enhanced performance, higher uptime, easier and safer maintenance, along with a series of other improvements, making it the perfect choice for diverse rock processing operations.

“The launch of the Nordberg HPe crusher series during CONEXPO-CON/AGG trade show last year was a success, and now we are proud to bring to the market our latest addition to the series, the Nordberg HP350e cone crusher. Compared to the first crusher on the series, HP200e, the new crusher, HP350e, belongs to a larger size class of crushers. We are excited to expand the Nordberg HPe series to bring to the market a wider offering of these high-performance crushers fit for different production purposes,” said Ilkka Somero, Product Manager, HP Cones.

The Nordberg HP350e cone crusher offers several unique benefits including:

Enhanced performance

  • New enhanced kinematics and more efficient chambers.
  • Up to +10% performance in secondary and tertiary application (as compared to HP300).

Improved uptime and serviceability

  • No-backing liners for quick, easier, safer liner change.
  • Head anti-spin brake extends liner wear life.
  • Optional ring bounce monitoring feature for active overload protection.
  • New feed cone lifting tool, for safe lifting and handling.

Wider application coverage

  • Three alternative kinematics to choose from.
  • Alternative speeds
  • Exceptionally wide chamber offering: 10 innovative application-specific, no-backing chamber designs for secondary, tertiary and quaternary stages

Efficient parts lifetime economy
Fully covered aftermarket support as most parts are common between the earlier HP300 design and HP350e and the rest remain either interchangeable or upgradable. Current HP300 owners can purchase Metso’s HPe upgrade kits, enabling economical access to some of the new HPe features, including Enhanced kinematics, Head anti-spin brake, and Ring bounce monitoring, as well as monitor and No-backing liners via head and bowl upgrade. If need be, the new HP350e can also utilize older-generation HP300 backing liners features.

Nordberg HPe series crushers will also be available as U.S.-compliant Nordplant Pre-designed Crushing Modules. These modules provide convenient all-in-one delivery with quick assembly for replacing crushing stations or in new quarries.

Furthermore, Metso is also introducing the first HPe series crusher on tracks for improved mobility. The Lokotrack LT200HPX is equipped with a Nordberg HP200e cone crusher and a 2-deck pre-screen with up to 40% higher capacity than the LT200HP.

TSE
Metso also has expanded its standard product offering of screens for the North America, Mexico, and Central America markets with TSE Series triple shaft screen. The new TSE series screen is a high-performance horizontal screen used in a wide range of wet or dry applications in coarse or fine screening. TSE series screens are designed for superior accuracy and efficiency in a very compact installation.

“At Metso, we have extensive experience in designing and supplying vibrating equipment, and we have selected the best features and attributes to offer a wide range of vibrating screens and feeders. We are proud to introduce the TSE Series screen which is tailored especially for the North and Central Americas’ market needs. We expect the new screens to have a large customer interest that can already be foreseen from the bookings and sold screens already before the launch,” said Eduardo Freire, Vice President of Screening.

The TSE Series offers a robust design to support the stresses generated by the high-performance mechanism that produces the high G elliptical motion. The rigidity in the design is provided by frames made from standard sections with K-bracing and with side plates that are huck-bolted without any welding. The result is a reliable screen design with less natural frequencies and a much larger operating window. The high-performance mechanism offers the flexibility to operate the screen in a large range of applications due to the ease of gear and counterweight adjustments. The TSE Series screen’s elliptical motion is combined with high acceleration, thereby bringing more performance in terms of throughput and screening efficiency.

The TSE Series screen is suitable for replacement of most standard triple shaft machines on the market in which minimal changes are required.

Metso TSE Series offers several benefits:

  • Robust, compact design: Portable design due to low height, heavy-duty construction.
  • High-efficiency screen: High-performance elliptical motion up to 6.5Gs bringing efficiency at the separation of near-sized material.
  • Wide range of applications: Wet or dry screening applications, including coarse and fine screening and hard-to-separate sticky material.
  • Flexible production: Easy adjusting mechanism enabling the changing of the elliptical stroke and stroke angle for better production based on material type.
