Metso Outotec wins contracts in Uzbekistan, Oman

Metso Outotec has signed a contract to deliver key process technology to Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical’s MOF3 Copper-Gold-Molybdenum concentrator complex in Almalyk, Uzbekistan. 

The planned capacity of the plant, which is situated next to the Yoshlik-1 deposit, is 60 million tonnes per annum. 

The scope of delivery consists of the basic engineering, manufacturing, and supply of equipment, including HIGMill regrinding mills, TankCell flotation equipment and high-rate thickeners, slurry pumps and MHC Series hydrocyclones. It also consists of installation and commissioning advisory services and spare parts.

The contract value exceeds EUR 100 million and has been booked in Minerals’ Q2/2022 orders received.

Separately, the Finnish OEM has signed an agreement for the delivery of engineering and key equipment for an iron ore Grate Kiln pellet plant to Vulcan Pelletizing in Oman. The plant, which is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2023, will supply pellets to Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel.

Metso Outotec’s scope of delivery consists of the supply of core pelletizing plant equipment, including the traveling grate, rotary kiln and annular cooler. The design is based on the Grate Kiln plants that the company is currently supplying for a customer in India. 

The value of the order is EUR 33 million, and it has been booked in Metals’ Q2/2022 orders received.
