Eriez appoints Behre

Eriez has announced the appointment of Matthew Behre to serve as its Flotation Sales Director for Eriez-Australia.

In this pivotal role, Behre will spearhead Eriez’ capital sales, commissioning, laboratory operations, and pilot test work for the Australia region. 

Behre brings nearly two decades of invaluable expertise in flowsheet design, metallurgical laboratory management, and process engineering to his new position.

Before joining Eriez, Behre played a key role in developing oxide flotation systems for various projects within a global mineral sands company’s portfolio. His responsibilities included mitigating metallurgical challenges, enhancing performance, streamlining flowsheets, and providing technical guidance to project stakeholders and interdisciplinary teams. Behre’s prior experience also includes 10 years with SGS Metallurgy, where he was the manager of the mineral processing department. 

Throughout his career, Behre has been integrally involved in numerous studies ranging from initial sighter-level assessments to comprehensive feasibility studies across a diverse spectrum of commodities, including zircon, iron ore, lithium, rare earths, and base metals such as copper and gold. 

James Cooke, managing director of Eriez-Australia, said: “Matt’s extensive background, outstanding leadership skills, and forward-thinking approach will be instrumental in propelling our ongoing success. As we continue to advance and innovate, his contributions will undoubtedly be vital.” 

Behre will be based in Western Australia and will report to Cooke and Eric Bain Wasmund, vice president, Global Flotation.
