French miner Eramet, with support from the European consortium EIT RawMaterials, has launched the global Water Resource Innovation Challenge 2023, which seeks groundbreaking innovations to solve water management challenges within the mining and metals sector.
Start-ups and small to medium-sized enterprises that provide disruptive solutions to manage water consumption, preserve water quality, or maximise recycling and implement closed-loop systems in hydrometallurgy are invited to apply to the competition by 13 September.
A group of 10 pre-selected teams will be invited to participate in an online pitching round on 25 October with three finalists selected for an innovation seminar pitch in January 2024. The winning team will be awarded a collaboration contract with Eramet and €50,000 in funding to realise a Proof of Concept.
Applicants can submit entries here.
