Women in Mining UK has opened nominations for the sixth edition of its “100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining” (WIM100), sponsored by BMO Capital Markets, Heidrick & Struggles and BCG.
“We started the WIM100 just over a decade ago, and since then have seen countless incredible and inspiring women be celebrated for their achievements in the mining sector. However, we still must face the fact that in the last 10 years, while female representation in the sector has certainly improved, significant challenges still remain,” said Dr. Stacy Hope, WIM UK managing director.
“This is why initiatives like the WIM100 are so important. It helps to shine a spotlight on women who are driving change and making a significant impact across the world. It also helps to profile the female role models who will help inspire a new generation of women to join the industry. I, therefore, encourage you all to get nominating!”
According to WIM, a WIM100 woman is a trailblazer; rises up to the challenges she faces; and advocates, empowers and creates a better environment for future leaders in the mining industry.
Nominations close on 17 March 2024.
