Sandvik to deliver underground loaders, trucks to Oyu Tolgoi

Sandvik has received a major underground mining equipment order from Oyu Tolgoi to be used at its copper-gold mine in Mongolia’s South Gobi Desert.

The order is valued at SEK 270 million and was booked in the second quarter of 2025.

“Sandvik loaders and trucks have consistently delivered industry-leading performance for Oyu Tolgoi, and we are very pleased to be able to continue to support safety, productivity and cost efficiency in the mining operations,” said Mats Eriksson, president of business area Mining.

Deliveries are expected to begin in October and continue through November 2026.

Oyu Tolgoi LLC is jointly owned by Rio Tinto (66%) and the Government of Mongolia (34%).
