RPMGlobal has released a major upgrade to its XPAC scheduling suite, including support for battery trucks.
The Australian company said the newest version also includes multiple independent calendars and further enhancements to environmental functionality.
Other changes include disturbance reporting and scheduling, landform surface definition, bi-directional integration with RPM’s Schedule Optimisation Tool (SOT) and many more commodity-specific enhancements.
On the environmental front, scheduling is now possible with enhanced spatial zoning, ideal for reporting areas that are disturbed by mining and dumping within key areas such as water catchment and the habitat of specific animal species and constraining those areas within the schedule.
With regard to the battery electric truck modelling, XPAC has added an ability to define which road segments can be used to recharge batteries, allowing users to evaluate whether adequate recharge provisions have been made by providing net energy usage information.
CEO Richard Mathews called the newest release of XPAC the most significant in the past several years.
“Coming off the major investment we made in performance and usability in the previous release, we had a very solid platform to introduce these new industry-leading features, without comprising speed, quality or accuracy,” he said.
He noted that Schedule and Product Optimiser (PO) can now use different calendars, including those with variable period durations, and another new feature allows users of the open cut coal solutions to import final landform surfaces allowing control of dragline and shovel dumps.
Other additions in specific solutions are the support for alternative mining methods within the underground metals solution, simultaneous mining and backfill of pits within the open pit metals solution, conveyor and strip design import improvements for coal operations as well as improvements to vertical progression for oil sands.
“This release was focused on delivering enhanced functionality across all commodities, developed with our users, for our global user base,” Mathews said.
“What you are seeing is the culmination of some very hard work by a lot of people and we are really looking forward to seeing it in the hands of our users.”
