Global miner OceanaGold has confirmed an employee of its Didipio gold-copper mine in Luzon, Philippines, was fatally injured on 21 June.
The unnamed individual was found unresponsive on the ground in the vicinity of the paste plant and was unable to be revived. Mine operations were voluntarily suspended for 24 hours to allow for the workforce to be informed of the incident.
OceanaGold said an investigation is underway.
Didipio produces gold and silver as doré bars and copper in concentrate.
