Engineering company Monadelphous Group has won a major construction contract with Rio Tinto associated with the Brockman Syncline 1 mine project, located within the Brockman mine hub in the West Pilbara.
Once developed, Brockman Syncline will have the capacity to process up to 34 million tonnes of iron ore per annum.
“We are looking forward to building on our long-standing relationship with Rio Tinto on this significant contract, extending our reputation for the safe and successful delivery of large multidisciplinary construction projects,” said Monadelphous Managing Director Zoran Bebic.
The contract, valued at approximately A$250 million, includes fabrication and supply, detailed earthworks and concrete, structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical and instrumentation works associated with the construction of a new primary crusher and overland conveyor, as well as modifications to the existing plant.
Work is expected to be completed in 2027.
