LinQ Minerals said it has commenced drilling at the Gidginbung gold deposit, located within the Southern Zone of the Gilmore gold-copper project in New South Wales. This represents the first drilling activity undertaken at the deposit since 2001.
The drilling program is designed to assess extensions of existing gold and copper mineralisation that remain largely untested by historical drilling at both Gidginbung and the Dam deposits.
“We are excited to begin drilling at Gidginbung, one of the key gold deposits in our highly prospective Gilmore project,” said Clive Donner, LinQ Minerals executive chair. “The commencement of drilling is an important step in unlocking the broader scale of this system, particularly at depth and along strike.”
Gidginbung is a high-sulphidation epithermal gold system with historical production of 540,000 ounces of gold from open-pit mining between 1987 and 1996.
