Kamoa Copper SA has entered an order with Metso Outotec for the delivery of crucial concentrator equipment for the miner’s mining complex expansion in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The order has been entered with the supplier’s 2Q22 bookings, though neither party released the value of the deal.
Scope of delivery includes energy-efficient HIGmill regrind mills with polyurethane wear linings as well as Larox PF 60 Series concentrate filters and TankCell flotation cells valuables recovery.
All equipment is part of Metso Outotec’s Planet Positive line-up.
Charles Ntsele, vice president – Minerals Sales for Metso Outotec in Africa, said Kamoa is seeking to implement low-carbon technology to advance its mission for sustainable copper production.
“[It allows] us to be a true partner for positive change,” he added.
Kamoa Copper is a business arm of Ivanhoe Mines.
