FLSmidth said it has received an order to supply comminution technologies to upgrade an undisclosed customer’s copper concentrator at a mine in the Asia Pacific.
The order, valued at DKK 300 million (US$43.3 million), includes the delivery of two High Pressure Grinding Rolls Pro, which FLSmidth described as being “among the most energy-efficient comminution technologies available.” The order also includes auxiliary equipment such as an electrical and automation package, and first-time spares and wear parts package.
The miner chose FLSmidth’s HPGR Pro technology to help mitigate challenges of increasing ore hardness and decreasing metal grades as the mining pit deepens. Upon installation of the equipment the miner will benefit from increased throughput capacity, lower power consumption and extended roll life.
The order was booked in Q1 2024 with equipment to be delivered next year.
