Epiroc’s Underground division has entered a partnership with Swedish-founded Jama Mining Machines AB, which will see Epiroc offer a complementary selection of Jama’s scalers and rescue chambers globally.
“This partnership is a natural step in our commitment to providing the most complete and innovative solutions for underground mining. Jama’s expertise in scaling and their strong track record of customer-focused innovation make these solutions an ideal complement to our offering,” said Rickard Johansson, VP Marketing with Epiroc’s Underground division.
Epiroc will offer the following Jama scalers globally (exceptions: Nordic countries, UK and Ireland): battery-electric SBU 8000 E, SBU 8000 C and JMS 7000, and the mobile rescue chamber MRC 2 with an eight-person capacity.
Introduced in 2020, the Jama battery-electric scaler SBU 8000E was the world’s first fully electric battery-powered scaling machine and comes equipped with a battery solution that has been developed in collaboration with Epiroc.
Aftermarket support will be provided by Epiroc’s customer centers, with technical backup from Jama’s experienced team in Sweden.
