Western Australia-based Liontown Resources announced a massive milestone for its Kathleen Valley lithium project: first ore crushed.
“Commissioning of the dry plant commenced in late March with the team energising equipment and conducting thorough checks of the systems to ensure everything works in accordance with the design,” said the miner.
Liontown noted that it will gradually ramp up the volume of ore through the crusher to build a stockpile of crushed ore. It is targeting first production in mid-2024.
Kathleen Valley is a Tier-1 battery metals asset located in an established mining region about 60 kilometres north of Leinster and 680 km northeast of Perth.
