China’s National Energy Administration said the country vows to further accelerate the “intelligent construction” of coal mines.
The agency encouraged all coal-producing provinces, coal industry management departments, and relevant central enterprises to step up efforts to promote the intelligence transformation of major production processes at coal mines, and to support the stable supply of coal.
Additionally, the agency advocated for autonomous operation of production systems, including unmanned operations in fixed locations and the application of robots in hazardous and labor-intensive positions.
According to China’s National Bureau of Statistics and other sources, the country’s coal output rose to a record high of 4.71 billion tons in 2023, up 3% from the previous year, reported The Japan News, noting that the country coal production accounts for more than half of the global output.
