Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture said it has been given clearance to commence a staged resumption of operations at its Renison tin mine following a precautionary shutdown due to a nearby bushfire.
“We appreciate the patience and understanding of our staff and contractors during this challenging period for the operation and the broader West Coast community,” the miner stated.
“The safety and welfare of our people continues to be our number-one priority. With fires still actively burning, we will continue to monitor the situation and respond to changing conditions as required.
“We would again like to thank the emergency services for their open communication which has greatly assisted the IMT in its decision-making process,” the miner concluded.
Bluestone Mines Tasmania JV is Australia’s largest tin producer and represents a partnership between Metals X and YTPAH Pty Ltd, successfully supplying 3% of the world tin production annually.
