American Industrial Partners (AIP) has acquired the sulfuric acid regeneration business of Veolia North America, including its sulfuric acid and potassium hydroxide regeneration, sulfur gas recovery, and sulfur-based products production businesses.
The partnership will enable the company, which has been renamed Nexpera, to accelerate its expansion strategy and delivery of mission-critical environmental services and specialty sulfur-based products for diversified industries.
Nexpera’s specialties will include the manufacturing of sulfuric acid and sulfur derivatives for a broad range of industrial processes, including gold and copper mining, EV battery production and semiconductor production. It will also help refineries cleanly process sulfur gas and regenerate spent sulfuric acid and potassium hydroxide which are critical to the alkylation process.
The takeover is AIP’s fourth acquisition in a month. It also has collected explosives and engineered blasting solutions group Austin Powder as well as Aker BioMarine’s feed ingredients business and the grain and protein division of AGCO.
