BHP Invent has signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with leading Chinese research and engineering organisations, China ENFI and BGRIMM Technology Group.
The agreements support collaboration in mineral processing, leaching, complex ore treatment and high-altitude environments.
“Partnerships like this are how we turn big ideas into real impact, connecting global innovation with the challenges we’re solving every day across our operations. Together, we can accelerate safer, more productive and sustainable outcomes,” said Jessica Farrell, VP of BHP Innovation.
While in China, BHP’s innovation team met with a range of organisations applying advanced capabilities across robotics, industrial automation, cloud and AI, metallurgy, leaching and tailings management.
The discussions gave important insights into how technologies are being developed and applied, allowing teams to share perspectives on common challenges and opportunities across the mining value chain.
